A #CraftyChristmas with Gel-A-Peel

My favourite thing about Christmas is doing things together as a family. Whether something big, or something small, it’s just nice to have a bit of time together doing something fun. Watching Christmas movies snuggled on the sofa, baking cookies together or writing out Christmas card while listening to festive music, I love it all. The lovely people from Gel-A-Peel recently got in touch to see if we would like to take part in their Crafty Christmas challenge, and I thought it was the perfect opportunity for us to do something a little bit different as a family. Something festive, […]

Play By The Book Review

I am very pleased that both of my children seem to have developed my love for books and reading, which only seems to be growing as they get older. Now that Neil is in P3 at primary school, he is being encouraged to read on his own a lot more. He is fantastic at reading words, and always has been. My Friend Freddy Bear Review

Back in June when I attended a blogging conference in London, I got the chance to meet and have my photo taken with a giant teddy bear called My Friend Freddy Bear. Helping Hands & Play Foam Review from Learning Resources

As the parent of a child with ASD, I’m always on the lookout for fun and interesting ways to engage and help Neil develop his skills. I have spent many a night on the Internet looking at special needs toys, and sensory toys. There is a lot available, but it’s disappointing to find that a lot of ‘special needs’ toys carry quite a high price tag. A little while ago I was introduced to Learning Resources and was amazed by the huge range of educational toys on offer. I was very pleased to find they had a dedicated section devoted […]

Word of the Week – Lego

It’s been a funny couple of weeks. I’ve been off work since the weekend before Christmas, and everyday since then has felt like a Sunday. The week between Christmas and new year is particularly strange, a bit like ground hog day, with Boxing Day repeating itself over and over. I’m never quite sure if it’s accaptable to still be in Christmas mode for that whole week, I had a drink almost every night which I would never do, and spent most of the week in my pjs! Definitely a strange week, but a great week all the same. It’s not […]
