My Monthly Bucket List January 2017

It’s been a while since I’ve done a monthly bucket list. Usually I have every intention, but I’m terribly unorganised and end up forgetting about it until it’s too late. Of course this month I’m on the ball, because it’s January and I’m a new, more organised person. HA only joking, I’m sure I’ll be late again in February. Anyway I don’t have last month to update you on, so I’ll just jump straight in to my goals for this month. January Bucket List Read a bed time story to the kids every night – I used to read the […]

A funny old week

This week has been a funny old week. In fact, it’s been a funny kinda fortnight. Not haha funny, but weird funny. It’s been a fortnight largely spent indoors, for various reasons. The first being that we’ve all been feeling under the weather. The second being the actual weather, or temperature which would be more accurate. It has been freezing, which has left me looking for any excuse not to go outdoors. A change of Plans

Things haven’t exactly gone to plan today. But you know what, that’s OK. It’s been OK. The day started as it should, as it always does. We got up slightly late, but what’s new? We had breakfast, we got dressed and we had a bit of a rush around to find things in the minutes before the school bus. A pretty standard morning actually. Someone mentioned an ailment, which is also pretty standard. Tummy aches, head aches, runny noses, there’s always something in our house. I’m certainly not one of those parents who sends their kids to school regardless of […]

Our First Time At Rainbows

I wrote last week about Caitlin and I joining Rainbows in a bid to help Caitlin make some new friends and boost her confidence. When I wrote that, we were just about to attend our first night. Now we’ve been, I thought I would write a little about our first time at rainbows. For those of you that haven’t read the post, pop on over and have a little read here. So last Wednesday, we attended rainbows for the first time. Caitlin as a rainbow, and myself as a helper. It was the first session after the halloween break, so they […]

A Shy Child – Joining Rainbows

Caitlin is quite possibly the shyest child I have ever met. She always has been, and it’s something I blame myself for a lot. I worry I didn’t socialise her enough when she was young. With Neil, I went to baby group every week until a little while after his first birthday. Things were different during Caitlin’s first year though, we had recently moved to Northern Ireland and it was hard to find a group I felt welcome in. As they got older we tried toddler group, but soon found that Neil couldn’t cope with them, so we stopped going. […]
