We are very lucky to live in a village with a little travelling library bus which visits once a fortnight. The kids love reading, and while they have their favourite books, we also love finding new stories to read at bedtime. The library bus that comes to us is used by a lot of families, and so children’s books make up a large portion of what they have on offer. Each time we visit, we come away with a huge pile of new stories to read. I thought it would be nice to start sharing with you the library books […]
As a lover of books I’ve always wanted to join a book club. I recently joined the Britmums Book Club, and while it’s not a club that physically meets to discuss the books, it’s still a great opportunity to read and review books. The first book I have received through the book club is The Playground Mafia by Clare Christian and Elisabeth Kent. The Playground Mafia is a tongue in cheek look at the different mums and dads that you might find in the school playground. The book contains 30 characters, including things like ‘Competitive Mum’ and ‘Hot Dad’. Each character comes with […]
I love to read. Curling up on the sofa with a book and getting lost in the story has been a favourite pastime of mine for as long as I can remember. For my own personal reading challenge, I have pledged to read 52 books in 2016, which is […]
If there is one thing that all children love, it’s stickers. It’s preprogrammed in to them, I’m pretty sure of it. Take my children in to a shop and they will find stickers of some kind within seconds. My daughter in particular, she’s a bit of a stickerholic, if there is such a thing. All of her notebooks, pencil cases, even her walls, are covered in random stickers. So imagine her delight when we received the Christmas 4000 Stickers book from Parragon Books.
There is something quite magical about a bed time story. Whether exciting and interactive, or calming and endearing, you really just can’t beat it. For many families, it is a special moment shared each night. Gathering around a good book, and getting lost in an imaginative land, it’s a fantastic way to wind down after a busy day. A bedtime book is a favourite part of the nightly routine for families up and down the country, which is why ASPACE & The Great British Book Shop have teamed up to bring the top 10 bedtime books.
