My 2017 Reading Challenge

In 2016 I joined in with the Goodreads Rading challenge. I challenged myself to read 52 books over the year, amounting to one book a week. Did I do it? No, I managed a measly ten. I’m taking part in the 2017 reading challenge this year, and you may think that I’d adjust my goals accordingly, but I’m not. Again, I’ve challenged myself to read 52 books. Ten books in one year is quite pitiful isn’t it? That’s not even a book a month. In fairness, I have a bit of an excuse. 2016 wasn’t my best year. I spent […]

A few weeks ago, after a trip to one of our local shops, he came home armed with bags of groceries as usual, and a book for the kids, as usual. But, there was something quite unusual about the chosen book, ‘The Book With No Pictures’.¬†What is so unusual about it? Well, the name might give you a clue.

Story Corner – What We’re Reading 3/3/16

We are very lucky to live in a village with a little travelling library bus which visits once a fortnight. The kids love reading, and while they have their favourite books, we also love finding new stories to read at bedtime. The library bus that comes to us is used by a lot of families, and so children’s books make up a large portion of what they have on offer. Each time we visit, we come away with a huge pile of new stories to read. I thought it would be nice to start sharing with you the library books […]
