This is it, then. You’re no longer just someone’s girlfriend or boyfriend. You’re now engaged! The ring has been presented and the proposal has been accepted. You’re now itching to tell everyone and ready to plan the wedding out – in your heads, at least.
You’ve probably thought about what your wedding would be like ever since you were small – which is understandable seeing as it’s quite a big deal. Everything from the invitations to the thank you cards would’ve been pondered. But now it’s time to put those thoughts into actual practice.
A big part of any wedding is the evening’s proceedings. Obviously, the service is the reason everybody shows, and it’s an amazing moment, but the party later on can create more everlasting memories. You may have some ideas, but if you still lack a few, here are some suggestions.
It wouldn’t be much of a party if you didn’t have some classic anthems being boomed out for everyone to enjoy. Music makes everyone feel better and you’ll want that fun, enjoyable atmosphere. There are hundreds of bands that specialise in performing at wedding parties so you probably won’t struggle to come across one. There are websites around, like AliveNetwork.com, which you can look around and find the right group for the evening. If you don’t feel a live band is for you, you can always hire a DJ to play the classics.
You can never be too old to muck around and play silly games with your buddies. There have been many an instance where carnivalesque games have been a part of the entertainment. Other games that take place in front of everyone are popular, too. For example, the Mr And Mrs activity whereby questions are asked and the bride and groom must choose with one of them relates the most.
There will probably be lots of dancing anyway, but you could have actual professionals putting on a show for the crowd as well as joining in and having fun with the guests. There have also been nights where a special, specific dance between, say, the bride and her father have shocked everyone in attendance!
Something For The Kids
Some of the little ones may revel in the evening’s proceedings, but, most of the time, they get bored and want something else to do while the grown-ups do grown-up things. If there will be a large number of kids attending, then you might want to make they have plenty of entertainment themselves.
The meals during the reception are obviously important – people need to eat! But later on, they may grow a little hungry again. You might want to make sure there’s food for everyone as you don’t want cranky guests – especially after a few drinks!
Remember, it’s YOUR day, you can do whatever you wish – as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone. If you have something weird that you’ve always loved, why not include it in the evening? It’s going to be something you remember forever so make it count!
