Back to School with Lighter Life Fast

September is one of my favourite months. After a long summer break, it is good to get back in to routine, and start some new ones. Now that the kids are back to school, I have a bit more time to think about myself, and the changes I want to make in my life. One of the changes I’m hoping to make is to my diet. If you’ve been a long time reader of my blog, you will know that I’ve made several attempts at a healthy lifestyle. Well, here I am again, this time hoping to make some permanent changes. Lighter Life Fast got in touch recently to see if I would like to trial their 5:2 diet, and I guess you could say it was perfect timing.

Lighter Life Fast is a 5:2 diet. I’m sure you are wondering what the hell that means, so I’ll explain. Basically you eat a normal healthy diet for five days of the week, and then you have two fast days. During the fast days, you consume four of the Lighter Life Fast products, which amounts to around 800 calories, and contains all of your daily nutrients.

For me, this diet sounds perfect. I’ve tried meal replacement diets before, and honestly I get bored too quickly. Having to have a shake for lunch everyday, I just can’t do it. With this, I can eat what I want to eat for five days. I chose which days of the week I want to have my ‘fast’, so I can fit it in when it’s convenient. This kind of diet allows you to lose a little bit of weight, or maintain a good healthy weight. I must admit, I’ve put on a few pounds this year, and it would be great to lose some of them during my trial.

So what am I hoping for? Well, if I could drop a dress size, that would be amazing. I’m currently 12st and wearing a size 14. That’s not great for me, because most of my clothes are a size 12. Honestly, I can’t afford to buy a whole new wardrobe, so I would love to able to fit in to my clothes.

I’m going to be trying this for three weeks. Because it’s September and the kids are back at school, I’m hoping this will fit in to the busy back to school routine. I’ll be giving you honest updates on how I’m getting on over the next month, so check back to see how things go!!

    I’m interested in hearing how you do with this. An ex-colleague of mine lost loads of weight with lighter life, but when she came off it, she couldn’t maintain it. That was a few years ago, so it’ll be interesting to hear you find it. I’m currently on slimfast and have managed to lose 2 stone.

    Good luck. My diet and exercise routine was appalling over the summer so I’m hoping I can get back into it now the kids are in school
