Jord Wood Watches Review

I was recently approached by Jord Wood Watches to see if my husband would like to try a watch from their men’s watch range for review. It’s not often that my husband gets the opportunity to review something, so I said yes right away. Having looked at their range, I knew it would be something he’d love. I’m not really a watch person, I have my smart watch and I’m happy with that. My husband is in to watches though, and has different ones for different occasions. He didn’t have a wood watch though, so he was excited to add one to his collection.

Jord watches are based in the USA but offer free UK and international delivery. Being in the UK, there will be a customs charge when the package arrives, which is standard for imported goods. The shipping took a couple of weeks, which is not surprising considering where it is coming from. It’s worth noting that if you are ordering it as a gift for someone, allow time for shipping!

Choosing the watch took a lot of deliberation, as there are lots of nice styles to choose from. In the end, my husband chose the Dover Zebra Wood & Sandalwood. When it arrived, he wasn’t disappointed with his choice.

The watch arrived beautifully presented in a nice wooden box, and we were immediately impressed. The watch itself is beautiful. The colour of the wood against the ivory of the dial looks great, and the the space to see the inner workings of the watch gives it a different feel. The watch face is nice and big too, which is perfect for my husband who has big wrists.

Unfortunately, despite measuring and ordering a custom size during the ordering process, the watch arrived too big. Considerably too big in fact, which was quite disappointing. We ended up having to take it to a jewellers to have two links removed.

Other that the sizing issue, we were very impressed with the watch. It feels like good quality and looks great. My husband noted the watch felt very light on his wrist, so you could just put it on and forget about it. It’s a noticeable difference if you are used to wearing traditional metal watches, which can sometimes be quite heavy.

The watches are splash proof, but it is not recommended that you submerge them fully in water. This isn’t an issue for my husband, as he plans to wear this watch for special occasions and certainly won’t be going swimming with it on! As the watch is wood, it is recommended that you treat it with lemon oil to help keep the watch looking great.

All in all, it’s a very nice watch and is a lovely stylish addition to my husband’s watch collection.

We had the same issue with the size too. No jeweller here would touch it though so I had to send it back!
