We were recently sent a Fuzzikins Cozy Cats set to try. As a lover of cats and all things crafty, this set looked perfect for Caitlin.
The Cozy Cats set contains three colour your own kitties, along with the materials needed to make their beds. You also receive three markers, so you can colour in and decorate your cats.
Caitlin loves crafts, but it’s often something that fills me with dread. When I hear the word craft, I automatically think mess; Glue, paint and glitter everywhere. Imagine my delight when I realised this was a relatively mess free project! There’s no glue involved here at all, and anything that needs to be stuck comes with a sticky back.
To begin, you use the markers provided to colour in your cats. My tip here is to leave the cats white, and use the pens to make markings like stripes or spots. Caitlin coloured the smallest cat in all brown. It took ages, and she ended up with brown pen all over her hands, which took some scrubbing to get off! For the other two cats she simply added coloured stripes too them, which looked better and was much easier!
Once you’ve decorated the cats, it’s time to make their beds. Each cat gets their own bed, along with some little accessories to decorate. To make the beds, you take the lolly stick provided and push the tabs through the pre cut holes. This was a little bit difficult for Caitlin, so I did this part for her. Once the beds were made, she enjoyed decorating them with the various decorations which are provided. The decorations have sticky backs, and so are easy to press in to position.
Decorating the cats and making the beds kept Caitlin entertained for a good couple of hours. The cats are well made and make great little toys to play with once they’ve been decorated. Caitlin was very proud of her designs, and loved that she got to make her own toys. The beds have ended up at the bottom of the toy box, but she’s played with the cats regularly since she got the kit.
You can buy the Cozy Cats kit from Amazon* for less than £15, and I think it’s a great little kit for the money!
