I’ve been rubbish at blogging recently. Rubbish at writing in general, really. At the beginning of the year I wrote about how I wanted to engage in my passion daily, but it hasn’t happened. I’ve let my writing slip, and I’m disappointed. I recently saw that Mandi over at HexMumBlog was running a Blogtober challenge, which involves blogging every day for the month of October. I thought the challenge could be just what I need to give me that wee push. I’m hoping a month of blogging will get me back on track again.
For each day of Blogtober there is a theme. Todays theme is ‘Who are you?’ I was going to write some in depth backstory about myself but I’m really not sure it’s that interesting. So instead, you can have a few wee facts to wet your appetite. I’m sure as the month goes on you’ll get to peer deeper inside my soul, but for now we’ll keep it light.
Well, that’s me. My name is Lauren, which I hope is obvious from my blog name. I’m 29 years old, and I’m a nice geordie lass from Newcastle. Well, I’m actually from South Shields which is about 12 mile away from Newcastle, but close enough. I’m married to a Northern Irish man, who I met 8 years ago while he was at uni in Newcastle. We have two children, Neil who is 7 and Caitlin who is 6. Three months after Caitlin was born we packed up our life and relocated to Northern Ireland. Honestly, the move was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. 8 years on and I feel like I’ve made my home here, but I still miss Newcastle every day.
When I’m not blogging I like to spend my time reading or watching TV boxsets on Netflix. My favourite at the moment is Orange is the New Black, which I’m hooked on a bit. I’m also a partial to a bit of The Walking Dead and Sherlock.
I like dying my hair random colours. After shaving my hair for charity last August, I got pretty excited that for the first time in years I had a clean slate with my hair. So what did I do? Bleach the hell out of it so I could dye it pink. And purple, and any other colour that takes my fancy. I like tattoos, although I don’t have enough. If I had my way my body would be covered in them.
I’m a bit of a cat lover, although it hasn’t always been that way. I grew up with dogs and had no interest in kitties, until we welcomed two of them in to the family home. Now I’m kitty obsessed, and I particularly love our two, Poffy and Candy. Which before you ask, were named by my then
I’m a harry potter nerd, and I’ve just started reading the books again from the beginning. I love sugar skulls, and I dress up as one every halloween. I’d so it every day if I could get away with it.
I’m rushing now because it’s five minutes to midnight and I want to complete this on the 1st of October or it doesn’t really count! I’ll end by telling you that I love to send gifs and think there is a gif for every situation. If you’re a gif lover too hit me up and we can be gif mates.
I look forward to taking part in Blogtober, and can’t wait to read all of your posts!
