This week I’ve had a few days off work. I had planned on getting lots done but it just hasn’t happened. I’ve been pretty lazy actually, oops. Oh well, I’m off all weekend too so maybe I’ll get stuff done then, we’ll see. I thought I would join in to Little Loves again for the first time in over a year, so hello! On to my highlights of the week..
I haven’t had a chance to read much this week. Well, I say haven’t had a chance, I’ve had plenty of chances to read while I’ve been lazing about, but for whatever reason I just haven’t. I do most of my reading at night, usually getting half an hour in bed with the kindle before I go to sleep. This week I’ve been going to bed much later than normal, meaning I haven’t done much bedtime reading. I did start reading The Eagle Tree by Ned Hayes, which is a story about an Autistic boy who has a particular interest in trees. I hope to read more of that next week.
The kids have been reading The Book With No Pictures, every single night this week. It’s a funny book, you can read our review of it here if you like. We forgot to visit the library bus last week to renew our books, so we’ve had no new books to read. It comes once a fortnight, so we’ve got another week until it visits our village. We rely on it to find new and exciting books for the kids to read, although not having new books means we’ve had to re-read some of our old favourite this week, which has been fun.
I can’t get enough of The Walking Dead right now, it’s the only thing I watch at the moment really. It’s funny, because I came in to it late. My husband was binge watching it, and I caught a few episodes before becoming hooked and watching it from season three onwards. I got five episodes in to series six before NowTV took it away from me. Honestly, devastated doesn’t cover it. While I debate wether or not to buy the episodes I’m missing on iTunes, I’ve been going back and watching it from the beginning. I think I’m a little bit in love with Rick Grimes, he takes no prisoners at all!
My favourite song at the moment is Ocean Drive by Duke Dumont, I’ve had it on repeat this week. It’s the perfect chilled out summer song, which has been a good fit to the weather we’ve had this week.
It was 16° yesterday, which is actual mid summer temperatures for our village. Of course, we made the most of it with a barbecue! We got a new pizza oven this week, and we used it to cook our dinner three nights in a row. So, this week we’ve made pizza, and it was delicious. Although, like I said on snapchat yesterday, getting a pizza oven is not a good idea for your diet.
I always forget to take outfit photos, although recently I’ve not been feeling good about my wardrobe so I wouldn’t really want photos taken anyway! I did get a snap of caitlin wearing my red lipstick on a trip to the park this week though. She’s recently discovered where my makeup is kept, and will apply some at any given opportunity. Well, who would’t want to look this glam for the play park?
I got a new workspace for blogging/ writing this week, and it is amazing! I’ve been perched on the end of the desk in our bedroom next to my husband for a few months, but I was finding it difficult getting anything done (I’m very easily distractible!). We finally got a new desk for me, and I’ve relocated my laptop to my new area in the kitchen. It feels so much better to work in my own space! I’ll be writing a post showing the transformation when it’s finished, but for now here’s a little peek of how it’s looking.
