We are a family of milk lovers. My daughter would replace all other drinks with milk, given the chance. We go through litres & litres of the stuff every week. A nice cold glass of semi skimmed, slurped up with a straw, it’s one of my favourite things to drink.
I’ve been a big milk drinker since I was tiny. From the little glass bottles in school (that always spent a little bit too long in the sunny corridor and ended up slightly creamy), to having a carton of milk on my break at college, I’ve always loved it.
Recently, we’ve been drinking Cravendale, and it’s so good. Cravendale has been my favourite brand of milk for ages. I was drawn in years ago by an advert about it being so good that the cows wanted it back (best advert on telly, hands down!). At the time I thought, nah, milk is just milk, how good can it be? Well, the answer to that is ‘pretty, pretty good’. It doesn’t quite taste like other milk. It reminds me of the way milk used to taste, when I was a child, and I think that’s why I love it so much.
Our favourite way to enjoy our Cravendale is with cookies before bed. It’s an age old classic, and you just can’t beat it. Warm milk or cold, it doesn’t really matter, it’s all good.
After a particularly cold wintery day, it’s so nice to spend some time together in front of the fire with a nice glass of milk, and a big gooey cookie.
With a blanket on the floor, we had a little evening picnic. A selection of cookies on a plate, fresh cold milk, the flames in the stove gently flickering and creating a warm cosy glow, newly washed pyjamas, and a bed time story. What a nice way to spend a Sunday night.
Some cookies were dunked & milk bubbles were blown before the children sleepily headed up to bed, and it was the perfect way to end the weekend, and my absolute favourite way to enjoy milk, as a family.
