Everything we planted last month seems to be coming on really well, except for the kiwi fruit and the peppers. The biggest transformation has to be the potatoes, which have shot up. I don’t think there will be much room for them in the greenhouse soon. In fact, I’m not even sure they are potatoes at all, my husaband must have traded our cow for them at the market, I’m just waiting for the giant to climb down now.
If I’m being honest, I don’t even know what’s in some of the pots. We planted a lot of tomatoes, cucumbers, courgettes and thing in to single seed pots, and then move them in to bigger pots as they grew. They were all labelled, but as they have been moved I’ve forgotten to label them. I think my husband may know which one is which, but I certainly don’t, I just know it is a veg, of some description!
We haven’t had much of a change to get things re-planted out in the front garden. I had planned on doing that today but mother nature didn’t like the sound of that idea, and it’s absolutely bucketing down. We did get out last week and clear away a lot of the weeds along the side of the path ready to plant some flowers.
Caitlin has loved getting invloved and helping out.
She also happens to be winning the little sunflower competition we had going too. We have had some little unwanted visitors to the greenhouse though, and they seemed to find the sunflowers to be particularly tasty.
I’m hoping whatever little critter was eating our plants is done with his destruction. We think it may have been slugs, but I’m not sure.
I’m impressed with the progress we have made. I’m so excited to be able to harvest our own veg, although I know we are some time away from that at the moment.
We are all very green at the moment, I’m hoping that by next week we will have a nice wee splash of colour to the garden as I have ordered some flowers to plant along the side, and got some little decorative bits to put around the garden too.
You can see a bit more of my garden update on my youtube channel, I’d love it if you had a little look!
